Stop speeding in Forestview lot

Posted: Thursday, November 06, 2008

Can you please not drive through the Forestview staff parking lot to drop off your children? That is what the loop is for. You put staff members and children in danger. You are weaving in and out of parking spots, trying to get to the nearest exit after you danger many as you drop off your kids. I have dealt with this since the opening of Forestview and I have had enough! Maybe a staff member needs to sit at the entrances and only allow vehicles (designated for) staff!

Disposal of medication

In response to the person who wrote asking what to do with old medications, I work in an assisted living home. I pass medications on a daily basis. If there's reason to destroy any meds, we put the medications in a plastic bag, crush the meds, add a small amount of water and staple the bag and throw it away. ... Wouldn't it be nice if the person no longer taking them could give the meds to a low-income family, free clinic or to those who have no insurance? There's such a terrible waste in health care and increased cost.

Retirees should volunteer more

It's very sad to see all the retirees that are doing nothing for anyone but themselves. Many are volunteering every day. Many are caring for their grandchildren, but many are just fooling around in "coffee clutches" and wondering which restaurant to go to next. We have no time to fool around. There's so much work to do in helping the poor, single mothers and the youths, widows, handicapped, military families, etc. Just look around in your neighborhood and you'll see needs everywhere. If each one helps one we will see gigantic improvements in these difficult times. God will bless you.

Is the Dispatch nuts?

I don't know who is acting so childish in answering the Vox Pop letters, but please stop because people are beginning to think the Brainerd Dispatch is "nuts." If you don't like the letters (and some are really bad) then stop printing them. The thing that's so strange is that your ridiculous comments are many times on the more serious good letters which is not very smart at all. I've always thought the Dispatch has been fair in giving everyone something to say but now I'm thinking it's "in" with some really bad people and against everything that is good.

Editor's note: The Vox Pop Department of Internal Affairs wonders if Vox Pop should be sanctioned by the NCAA (National Comedic Attempt Association.)

Fresh paint needed

I just got back from voting in Barrows and there must not be any sort of ordinance in that area. There were two really major junkyards. If those people sold all that scrap metal and cleaned up their yards, they could afford some fresh paint on their houses. I think that should be taken care of.
