Brainerd man struck, killed while walking on Highway 371

A 55-year-old Brainerd man who was walking on Highway 371 about seven miles north of Baxter was struck and killed about 5:50 p.m. Sunday by a passing pickup, the State Patrol reported.

Lt. Amy Stanfield said the preliminary investigation indicates Bradley R. Nasset was walking across Highway 371 from his residence to a business when he was struck by the pickup. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled.

The driver of the pickup, Todd Beyer, 45, and his son, Trenton Beyer, 12, both of Pequot Lakes, were not injured.
