The annual Brainerd Nordic Ski Club Ski Swap is scheduled Nov. 15 at Brainerd High School.
Registration of items to be sold will begin at 7:30. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the event runs until noon.
Area ski shops will have new and rental items for sale.
From noon to 1 p.m., participants should collect money from items sold or pick up unsold iems. Unclaimed goods will be discarded, donated to non-profit organizations or become the property of BNSC.
Volunteers are needed to help with the swap. Please call Jeff DeVaney (829-7472) if you can help.
Marvin co-hitter of week in UMAC
College of St. Scholastica senior Ann Marvin, a senior outside hitter from Pine River, was named co-hitter of the week in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
Marvin led the Saints to a 3-1 record last week as she tallied 7 kills and 3 blocks in a 3-game sweep of Northland. She had 12 kills and a .522 hitting percentage against Franciscan University. Against Iowa Wesleyan she had 11 kills, 12 digs and 3 blocks. She had 9 kills and 4 blocks against Hannibal-La Grange.
Peluso to play in national tourney
Chris Peluso of Brainerd has been invited to play in the Tradition Mortgage High School Elite Hockey National Invitational this weekend at New Hope Arena.
Peluso will play for the Tradition Mortgage Minnesota White team. He was selected based on his performance in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League this season.
The tournament will feature the top high school-age players from Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Calgary, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Shattuck-St. Mary's (Faribault).
Peluso's team will play 5:15 p.m. Friday against Team Wisconsin. Saturday's games begin at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday's games at 10:30 a.m. The arena is located at 4949 Louisiana Ave., New Hope.
