A student who collapsed Tuesday at Brainerd High School may have been under the influence of alcohol.
At 2:11 p.m. Brainerd police school liaison officer Larry Helsene called for medical assistance in the junior locker section of the high school for a 16-year-old student who had collapsed and was unresponsive, high school principal Steve Razidlo said today.
"It appeared alcohol was involved," said Razidlo. The 16-year-old was a part-time student at the high school and at the Area Education Center.
The student was revived within minutes and given medical care, Razidlo said.
Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc said the student struggled with police officers and had to be restrained.
The student was treated by medical personnel from North Ambulance and released to family members, Razidlo said.
Razidlo said disciplinary action will be taken against the student.
