David F. Harrington, a Bemidji attorney and licensed teacher, edged Pine River attorney Ted Lundrigan for the Ninth Judicial District Judge, Court 4, post chambered in Walker, by a 61,926 to 47,109 vote margin.
There were 209 write-in votes.
In the other contested judicial seat in the Ninth Judicial District, incumbent judge Lois J. Lang retained her seat as Ninth Judicial District judge, Court 12, chambered in Grand Rapids, with 74,443 votes, beating her challenger, attorney David G. Kuduk, who had 34,350 votes. There were 145 write-in votes in this race.
In a statewide contested judicial race, incumbent Paul H. Anderson beat out Jack Baker to clinch the associate justice post for Minnesota Supreme Court 3. Anderson received 1,116,109 votes to Baker's 496,850 votes.
These results were based on 98 percent of statewide precincts reporting as of 9:30 a.m. today on the Secretary of State's Web site.
