James Guy, a police inspector from Perth in western Australia, spoke Monday with Central Lakes College criminal justice students in Brainerd about similarities and differences in law enforcement between the United States and his homeland. He said Australian officers patrol in pairs and have larger jurisdictions than most American officers. The most important mutual characteristic is the integrity implicit with careers in criminal justice. Guy was in the area on family business and spoke at the request of instructors Terry Fairbanks and David Stumpf.
