The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers-Minnesota announces that four Central Lakes College students will receive $100 scholarships as a result of their voluntary participation in the Lights on for Safety event held at CLC.
The Brainerd college was one of nine statewide sites for the campaign to improve vehicle safety. Free inspections led to servicing 597 vehicles with complimentary headlight, taillight, signal and brake lights. The event collected $2,200 and 1,840 pounds of food for community food shelves.
AASP-MN, an organization of independent auto service shops, awarded $5,000 in scholarships.
The CLC winners were Nick Eischens of Glencoe, Drew Fairbanks of Fort Ripley, and Joe Jones and Nicholas Lengyel, both of Brainerd.
