STAPLES -- Norman Ditmore Lundquist, 73, Staples, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at home.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1926, in Isle, to Elmer and Iona (Owens) Lundquist. He moved with his family to the Motley area and attended school. During World War II, from June 1944 to June 1946, he served in the Navy throughout the Pacific Theatre. He returned to Todd County where he farmed with his brothers on the family farm in Villard Township between Staples and Motley. For many years his shop was a local gathering place where he also allowed others to display and sell items along the highway.
Survivors include a brother, Harley Lundquist, Motley.
His parents, and three brothers, Lester, Owen and Warren, died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Motley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Hager officiating. Burial will follow in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
