Diabetes Walk sets a record

More than 125 Brainerd area residents took part in the annual America's Walk for Diabetes Saturday, Oct. 6. Sponsored by the Minnesota office of the American Diabetes Association, the event raised a record $41,500 for diabetes research, informational programs, and advocacy. The money raised will help fund research to find a cure and programs to improve the lives of people with diabetes.

Local sponsors lending their support to America's Walk for Diabetes included Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Brainerd Hardwoods, Brainerd Eyecare Center, St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd Rotary, and WJJY.
