Crow Wing Round-Up boosts agencies

The Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated approximately $35,000 to local community programs during their fourth quarter meeting held in October.

Operation Round-Up funds were distributed to the following projects:

$1,500 to Pine River Fire Dept., $1,750 to Nisswa/Lakeshore First Responders; $1,750 to Outing Quick Response; $1,500 to Friendship Ventures; $2,000 to Crosslake Community Center; $1,500 to Lake Country First Response Team, Longville; $2,000 to Kinship Partners, Brainerd; $1,000 to Rising Stars Therapeutic Equitation, Little Falls; $2,000 to Mission Township Fire and Rescue, Merrified; $2,000 to Shriners Childrens Hospital Fund, Brainerd; $1,000 to Youth as Resources, Brainerd; $1,000 to Junior Achievement, Brainerd.

$2,500 to Pillager Area Family Resource Center, $2,500 Northland Area Family Service Center, Longville; $2,500 to The Village School-Age Childcare Program, Pine River; $250 to Pine River Elementary School; $1,000 to Pequot Lakes School; $250 to Initiative Foundation, Little Falls; $250 to Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corp; $250 to Cass County Economic Development; $250 to Cuyuna Range Economic Development; $250 to Community Development of Morrison County; $2,000 to Reach out for Warmth; $2,000 to Emergency Heat Share (3 county) and $1,200 to Private Cooperative Members for Crisis Medical Support.

Operation Round Up is funded by participating members of Crow Wing Power who allow the cooprative to round up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar. The additional change is pooled and distributed quarterly. Since the program's inception in late 1996, Round Up has donated more than $645,000 to community projects and programs in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties.
