Aitkin OKs levy

AITKIN -Aitkin School District voters overwhelmingly approved a 6-cent operating referendum Tuesday, according to the school district Web site.

The vote was 860-163.

The voted renewed a 6-cent operating levy, which will remain in effect for another 10 years. The levy allows the district to access additional equity revenue through its levy using the state funding formula to generate $110,000 a year - or about $81 per student.
