Preserving family history program planned Monday
The Crow Wing County Historical Society is sponsoring a program on preserving family history at 7 p.m. Monday at the Northland Arboretum Visitors Center.
Bob Herskovitz, outreach conservator from the Minnesota Historical Society, will discuss the organization, display, storage and care of family treasures. Attendees are encouraged to take an active part in the program. They should bring an item that they have a preservation question about and that can be transported easily. Those items will be used in the discussion on displaying, storing and caring for family objects.
The program is free but a free-will offering will be requested to help defray the cost of the site use.
This is an opportunity to learn about organizing family papers, photos and other family treasures, how to create a successful oral history and how to preserve different types of memorabilia, especially those from World War II era.
