BAXTER - Forestview Middle School's homework help/tutoring program has started. Four Forestview staff members will meet with students after school starting this month.
Cost is $5 per day per youth. A snack will be provided. Fifth- and sixth-grade students will meet after school on Tuesdays and seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet after school Thursdays. Students may participate as little or as much as needed.
Information and request forms can be picked up in the school office, from Forestview teachers and in the Brainerd Community Education Youth Connection office at Forestview.

Learn how to preserve family history at Little Falls workshop
LITTLE FALLS - Organize family papers, photos and other family treasures during a Preserving Family History Workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Charles A. Lindbergh Historic Site in Little Falls.
The workshop is free.
Society outreach conservator Bob Herskovitz will discuss how to arrange and store family papers and treasures so future generations can appreciate family experiences, heritage and history. He will present guidelines to create an oral history so it will be informative and useful for generations to come. Participants are encouraged to bring items they aren't sure how to preserve that can be transported safely. There will be no appraisals.

SMSU counselor to visit BHS
Deb Norlin, an admissions counselor from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, will visit Brainerd High School at 11 a.m. Nov. 14.
Information on financial aid, tuition, academic programs, housing and campus life will be discussed. All interested students and parents are welcome to attend.
American Red Cross classes scheduled
The following classes are planned in November and December at the Northern Lakes Area of the American Red Cross North Star Chapter office in Brainerd:
Adult, infant and child CPR; first aid; AED essentials; Safe on my Own; baby sitters' training; CPR for the professional rescuer; and the return of community first aid and safety classes.
