Fair association's annual meeting slated
The Crow Wing County Fair Association will conduct its 2003 annual meeting at a 7 p.m. Thursday dinner at the American Legion Club at 708 Front St. Registration is 6:30 p.m. Dinner is at 7 p.m. and the meeting and election of officers will follow.
Red Cross to offer courses in November
The Northern Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer the following classes in November: First Aid Basics; Infant, Child and Adult CPR; babysitter training; AED Essentials; Preventing Disease Transmission; and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Night and Saturday classes are available. Call Peggy at 829-4004 for more information or to register for classes.
BHS marching band concert set
The Brainerd High School bands will have their indoor marching band concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Tornstrom Auditorium.
There will be marches, big band, popular and patriotic music. Selections include "The Days of Wine and Roses," "Gershwin!," "Twelfth Street Rag," "Chimes of Liberty March" and "Whip and Spur March."
A special feature in the concert will be a tuba solo by Andrea Miller. She will perform Frank Bencriscutto's "Concertino for Tuba and Band."
The Dixieland Band will also be featured in the concert performing "Cabaret." The personnel include Jessica Radtke on clarinet, Adam Dobson on trumpet, Brandon Brown on saxophone, Andrew Boos on trombone, Andrea Miller on tuba, Scott Lykins on piano and Seth Gogolin on drums.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students.
