Brainerd Garden Club

Sexual Assault Services
Sexual Assault Services is a non-profit organization serving Crow Wing County. Our mission includes providing support to victims of sexual abuse and their families, and to educate the public and professional community about the concerns surrounding sexual violence in an effort to reduce sexual violence.
Beginning Thursday, SAS will be offering two support groups for survivors of sexual assault. Michaela Poepping will facilitate a group for teens from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursdays and Kirsten Harris will facilitate a group for women from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursdays at the SAS offices in the Downtown Mall, Brainerd. Florence Rebekah Lodge No. 111 will meet at 3 p.m. Monday at the North room of the Salvation Army building for a regular meeting and lunch. Brainerd American Legion Auxiliary
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 255 members Kris Nelson, Shirley Schonover, Doris Stoffel and Kathleen Zelinske recently attended the Department of Minnesota Fall Conference in Roseville. The Department of Minnesota Auxiliary chairmen presented their programs for the upcoming year. Department National Security Chairman Kris Nelson and Department Girls State Chairman Dolly Zitur, members of Unit 255, reported on their programs. Keynote speaker was National American Legion Auxiliary President Kristine West from New Hampshire.
There will be a DFL rally from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Monday at Central Lakes College in the Chalberg Theatre. Expected guests will be Mark Dayton who is running for U.S. Senate, Senator Paul Wellstone, Congressman Jim Oberstar and State Senator Jerry Janezich.
