Michael L. Larson

NISSWA - Michael L. Larson, age 60, lifetime resident of Nisswa, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his home. Mickey was born in Brainerd Oct. 11, 1947, to Leonard and Frances (Erickson) Larson. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967 and served his country in Vietnam until he was wounded. He received two Purple Hearts. He married Ethel Drake, his dream girl, Oct. 28, 1972, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa where they started their family and have lived for 35 years.

Mickey loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was also an artist who made many special gifts for his family and friends. He made his love for his grandkids known to all and especially to them with all his treats and toys. His free spirit, giving heart and sense of humor will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; son, Eric (Laura) Larson; daughter, Nicole (Rob) Rasinski; granddaughters, Leric and Lachlan Larson and Adeline Rasinski; two sisters, Helen Fluck and Diane Larson.

Mickey loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was also an artist who made many special gifts for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fran and Leonard Larson; brother, Leonard Larson Jr.; and grandson, Cole Larson.

Private services were held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by Nisswa American Legion Post No. 627 Color Guard.
