You've just fallen into a vat of nuclear waste and turned into a zombie. What's the first thing on your mind? Finding a date to the prom, of course. Find out if Jonny gets the ghoul - er, girl - in Central Lakes College's "Zombie Prom." The musical will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday in the Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus. Tickets are $5.
Three Good Nights'
There are two musicals going on in Brainerd at the moment, but don't overlook Aitkin Community Theater's one-weekend-only staging of "Good Night Mrs. Puffin," featuring community members and high schoolers. It will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday in the Aitkin High School auditorium. Tickets are $5-$6.
Show yer face
The Crossing Arts Alliance aims to unveil its new digs in Brainerd's Franklin Arts Center with a unique show. Biff Ulm and other area photographers ask you to bring your mug, ugly or otherwise, to an open photoshoot for what will become the December exhibit "Faces: A Portrait of Our Community." Stop by the Crossing from noon-5 p.m. Friday or 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; after the exhibit closes, pick up your free photo.
The Wild, Wild West
Annie Oakley takes aim at romance and other targets in "Annie Get Your Gun," as On Stage Community Theatre enters its fourth season. The musical will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Franklin Arts Center Theatre (yes, the former junior high school finally has a new name) in Brainerd. Tickets are $5-$10.
... and on the seventh day, God created rock
Christian rock fans won't be napping when Seventh Day Slumber unleashes its window-rattling beats at 6 p.m. Sunday at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. Opening acts Silverline and The Lads will get the cafetorium rocking. Tickets are $10-$15.
