MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Salt Lake Buzz outfielder John Barnes was named the Minnesota Twins minor leaguer of the year on Thursday.
Barnes, 24, hit .365 with 13 home runs and 87 RBIs in 120 games for the Triple-A Buzz. He also scored 107 runs and hit 37 doubles in his first season at Triple-A.
In a late season callup to the Twins, Barnes hit .351 (13-for-37) in 11 games.
