Brainerd Youth Services awarded $65,000 for transitional living
Rep. John Ward, DFL-Brainerd, announced Brainerd Youth Services was awarded $65,000 for Transitional Living Programming. The funding is the result of the 2007 Runaway and Homeless Youth Act and will be available in 2008.
Ward, a co-author of the act, said Brainerd Youth Services was one of 198 awarded funds out of 32 agencies that applied.
He said the money will help Brainerd Youth Services address the crisis of homelessness by finding safe and dependable housing for at-risk youth.
