Richard J. Williams, 75, Brainerd, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 30, 1927, in Wheaton, Ill., to Jackson and Hanna (Kane) Williams. He worked as a welder and served in the Navy from 1945-1946. He worked as a plasterer. He married Maxine Coykendall on Oct. 7, 1950, in Las Vegas. He worked at the Metropolitan Water District in southern California for 16 years. He worked at Madden's Resort on Gull Lake for three years.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael Williams, Spokane, Wash., Jackson Williams and Patrick Williams, both of Brainerd, and Mark Williams, Castaic, Calif.; a daughter, Eileen Botonis, Colfax, Calif.; four sisters, Doris Partian, Long Beach, Calif., and Kathryn McDaniells, Caroline Kirby and Mary Watts, all of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.
His parents and a sister died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley with graveside military rites by VFW Post No. 1647.
Friends may call one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
