Snow season off to good start

Brainerd area snowmobilers can take heart. The 2002-2003 snow season got off to a good start in October.

Two inches of snow were recorded last month compared to a 10-year average of .75 of an inch. The 2 inches also represents the season snowfall total so far.

There was 3.14 inches of rain compared to an average of 2.14 inches. Year-to-date totals on rainfall show 35.44 inches of precipitation compared to an average of 26.33 inches.

October's high temperature was 66 on Oct. 1 and its low temperature was 17 on Oct. 16 and 24.
