Crow Wing County voters headed to the polls in such numbers that they swamped election judges and one precinct was still counting ballots at press time.

30 years ago (1972)

Quarterback Mike Morgan, who rushed for 352 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 707 yards and eight touchdowns, Thursday was named "Player of the Year" by his coaches.

40 years ago (1962)

The Brainerd School Board seemed to feel that the most important aspect of the picture is the Junior College. Second, there should be an Area Vocational School rather than having it as part of the Junior College.

60 years ago (1942)

The marriage of Pvt. and Mrs. Edward Orman took place Oct. 12. Pvt. Orman is at present stationed at Ft. Snelling.

80 years ago (1922)

The scientist who says there is no limit to space doesn't know much about the parking problem.
