MOTLEY -- Kermit Louis Kristenson, 76, Motley, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001.
He was born April 15, 1925, in Leeds, N.D., to Knut and Hannah (Engstrom) Kristenson. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1943. He married Verva Lamb on July 28, 1946, in New London. They moved to a farm north of Motley in 1947. He worked for the railroad for 36 years, retiring in June 1987. He was involved with the town board, the local school board, Faith Lutheran Church, the church's council and men's club, the Rainbow Riders Saddle Club and 4-H. He and his wife were charter and life members of the state 4-H volunteers.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kenneth Kristenson, Friday Harbor, Wash., Donald Kristenson, Victoria, and Kevin Kristenson, East Chain; a daughter, Janice Kristenson, Seward, Alaska; five grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Peterson, Grand Rapids.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with the Rev. Stephen Sveom and Bradley Skogen officiating. Burial will be in Motley Public Cemetery.
