SARTELL - Kari L. (Johnson) Bevans, age 48 of Sartell, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at the Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud, Minn., following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Dick Smith, the Rev. Nate Bjorge and the Rev. Blaine McNiel officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 9-11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls.
Kari Lynn Bevans was born Dec. 24, 1958, in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minn., to Lynden and Katherine "Kay" (Koop) Johnson. She grew up in Minneapolis until her sophomore year in high school when her family moved to Little Falls. She attended and graduated from Little Falls High School with the class of 1977. Following high school, Kari attended St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical College receiving a degree as a dental assistant. Kari worked in St. Cloud and most recently for Dr. Costley in Sartell, Minn. She was united in marriage to Thomas Bevans in August 1987 in St. Cloud, Minn. The couple later divorced. Kari's greatest joy was her loving children, T.J. and Courtney.
Kari is survived by the children she cherished so much, Thomas "T.J." Bevans, of Sartell, Minn.; daughter, Courtney Bevans, of Sartell, Minn.; parents, Lynden Johnson, of Little Falls, Minn., and Katherine "Kay" (Koop) Johnson, of Little Falls, Minn.; brother, Kraig Johnson, and wife, Elizabeth, of Springhill, Fla.; sisters, Kathy Wable, and husband, Richard, of Prince Frederick, Md., Kelly Nagel, and husband, Mark, of Little Falls, Minn., and Kirsten Sandman, and husband, Todd, of Cumberland, Wis.
Casketbearers are Jan Kaul, Susan Silvernale, Roxanne Wilson, Kim Coughlin, Kendall Johnson and Vint Johnson.
Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, Minn.
