The Brainerd United Way Campaign has gone over the top. The goal at the beginning of the campaign was $85,000. The total received to this point is $85,486 with more contributions coming in.

Leonard Holmstrom, assistant passenger traffic manager for the Northern Pacific Railway, met with Brainerd business and civic leaders to explain his firm's position in the move to have passenger trains 11 and 12 discontinued.

The Krech 4-H Club Saturday was named the Outstanding Crow Wing County Organization during the annual Brainerd Civic Association sponsored banquet. The Krech Club led an array of project medal preparation in all fields of 4-H work.
