Central Lakes College Theatre's Cultural Arts Series will present Steven Dietz's "Ten November" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8-10 in the Dryden Theatre on the Brainerd campus.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from the CLC Theatre box office at email@example.com.
"Ten November" is based on events surrounding the Nov. 10, 1975, sinking of the ore freighter Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior. Twenty-nine crewmen died. The Fitzgerald last sailed from a Duluth-Superior harbor.
The play reveals what life is like for the men who work the ships. Interlaced is a recounting of the investigation into the loss of the Fitzgerald. The play includes a haunting musical score written by Minnesota composer Eric Peltoniemi.
"Ten November" was presented last season to sold-out audiences. The popularity of that production, and the interest shown by the actors, led director Patrick Spradlin to include it as an encore presentation this fall.
The cast includes Thurman Knight, Joe Niklaus, Mike Soderlund and Bob Spear of Brainerd; Doug Keran, Shane Keran and David Allan Pundt of Baxter; Rich Dreissig of Nisswa; and Aaron Green of Little Falls.
Live music will be provided by guitarist Chris Bremmer of Brainerd, along with vocalists Brianna Keran of Baxter, Melissa Ruud of Brainerd and Lydia Hawley of Emily. Julie Keran of Baxter is the vocal director.
