MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Temperatures that were more than 40 percent colder than average in October and the higher wholesale cost of natural gas will mean higher heating bills, CenterPoint Energy Minnegasco said Thursday.
The billing rate for gas used by Minnegasco customers in November is 66 cents per therm, 15 percent higher than a year ago and 14 percent higher than October, the company said. "These higher prices mean our residential customers will probably pay about 25 to 30 percent more this year than last year," said Joe Klenken, a regulatory specialist for Minnegasco.
