Three men and two women were arrested Thursday in connection with a burglary at a residence in the 1200 block of Norwood Street.
The Brainerd Police Department received a call at 1:18 p.m. from the resident who said several people kicked open her door, entered her residence and took some items. The resident gave police officers a description of the vehicle and the license plate number.
The burglary doesn't appear to be a random act. Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc said at least two of the suspects knew the occupants of the residence on Norwood Street.
"They were there to confront the victim about some money and personal property," said Bolduc.
No one was injured in the incident.
All five suspects were arrested a short time later after Brainerd police officer Ron Myers located the vehicle at the intersection of Highways 210 and 371 in Baxter. All five suspect were arrested without incident.
One of the suspects, a 29-year-old woman, was released to Hennepin County law enforcement officials on an active warrant, Bolduc said.
Charges are pending on all five suspects and the incident is still under investigation.
