WALKER -- Judge Jay D. Mondry ordered murder suspect Arvid Eugene Kloek, 53, Minnetonka, to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the state facility in St. Peter to determine whether Kloek is competent to stand trial.
Kloek faces first- and second-degree murder charges in connection with the July 3 death of his wife, Minnetta Louise, west of Pine River.
An omnibus hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed with the case will be scheduled in Cass County Court upon completion of the psychiatric evaluation.
Kloek was arrested at the Brainerd Law Enforcement Center where he surrendered himself to authorities and directed them to his wife's body in a roadside ditch in McKinley Township of Cass County.

A steak knife was recovered from Kloek's car, according to the criminal complaint filed against him. He allegedly was covered with blood when he surrendered himself in Brainerd.
Kloek is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
