Is anyone else out there upset at the idea of closing Whittier school? I am so upset, and I bet many of you out there are too! I went to Whittier when I was a child, and I bought a house that is a block away from the school so my kids could go there too. I have fond memories of school days there and I still go there with my kids to play on the playground equipment. I think it is very unfair to take away the experience of going to such a great school away from my kids just because it will save a few bucks in a budget. There is a reason why Whittier is such a great school, and why people love to send their kids there. You just can't duplicate that in some huge school where your child is just a number. Kids learn better when they feel more at home, and where better is that than a block away from your house. Please, please do not take this away from my kids! I thought there was a reason why I pay taxes (and not cheap ones at that). Let your voices be heard, because apparently the ones of our children are just not heard.
Let your state senators, representatives hear from you
Rep. Paul Gazelka.
