October's precipitation figures continued the dry trend of 2003 in Brainerd, although the small amount of snowfall puts the area slightly ahead of the 10-year average.
DNR Forestry officials reported 1.35 inches of precipitation in October compared to the average of 2.4 inches. Year-to-date precipitation totals are 21.95 inches compared to an average of 27.77 inches.
The season's first snowfall measured 1.5 inches this month compared to the average of .75 of an inch.
High temperature for October was 84 degrees Oct. 8. The low temperature was 21 degrees Oct. 2.
