Siebert will discuss his book, "Personal Wars," which is a novel based on his experiences as a doctor in Vietnam. It is the story of the personal wars faced both in Vietnam and at home after the war. "Personal Wars" is the odyssey of Daniel Schubert, surgeon on a Navy medical team in South Vietnam during 1966 and 1967. It is also the story of his attempts to rebuild his life after the war is over.
One reviewer said "Personal Wars" is "one of the most intelligent and sensitive military novels about the Vietnam War in existence today." Another said, "This story is beautiful, sensitive and well written. It is full of adventure and romance and, as an added bonus, it tells us things about the Vietnam War and human emotions that we could never find in a history book."
Interspersed throughout the book are drawings created by the author of many of the places he saw while in Vietnam
This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and autographing after the event.
