Pierz girls place third

PIERZ - Sonya Theis ran to a 16th-place 16:48.89 and Mariah Hoheisel finished 20th to lead the Pierz Pioneers girls' to third in Thursday's Section 5-1A meet at the Pierz Golf Course.

Megan Hoheisel was 24th, Rachel Detschman 27th and Tracy Wimmer 28th leading to Pierz's 110 points. Annandale won the meet with 71 points.

The Pierz boys' placed seventh and were led by Kyle Becker.
