Borden, Ranger girls just miss state berths

CLOQUET - For the first time since 2001 the Crosby-Ironton Rangers will not have a representative running in the Class 1A state meet.

The C-I girls' made a run at it as they finished third in Thursday's Section 7-1A meet.

Lisa Borden ran to a 13th-place time of 16:34.3 and Marie Abear finished 15th with a 16:52.8.

Colt Severson's time of 18:16.8 was good for 15th place and earned him the top spot for the fifth-place C-I boys' team.

Seth Carlton finished 23rd and Jacob Goodwin had a time of 18:49.3 which was good for 33rd place.

The top two teams and top 10 individuals advance to state.
