Posted: Thursday, October 30, 2008

A 14-year-old Brainerd boy was in critical condition late Wednesday after accidentally being shot at a residence on the 1600 block of Oak Street.

Police officers responded to the shooting about 9 p.m.

Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc said preliminary investigation indicated it was believed that the boy was accidentally shot. Bolduc also said investigators were looking at the possibility that the gunshot was accidentally self-inflicted.

The boy was airlifted in critical condition to an unknown hospital, Bolduc said.
