GARRISON - A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were recently arrested as part of an eight-month investigation by the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division into the trafficking of methamphetamine in Crow Wing County, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
The two were arrested following the execution of a search warrant Oct. 21 at a residence in Garrison where about five ounces of methamphetamine was recovered along with about $2,000 cash. The street value of the methamphetamine is about $12,000, the sheriff's department reported.
The LADID was assisted in the case by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The woman faces federal trafficking charges, the sheriff's department reported, and the man faces state criminal charges.
This investigation is connected to a larger investigation being conducted by the DEA, the sheriff's department reported Wednesday.
