C-I teams state-bound
HAWLEY -- Crosby-Ironton's Kim Beaman captured the Section 8, Class 1A girls individual cross country title at the Hawley Golf Club Thursday and the Ranger girls' won the team title with 32 points.
Beaman, a senior, led the field with a time of 16:48 and teammate Andrea Borden placed fourth with a time of 17:04. Both qualified for state as individuals.
Ashley Prososki, of Pine River-Backus, finished second to Beaman in a time of 16:52 to advance to the state meet as well.
The Ranger boys' team also qualified for state by placing second overall with 77 points. C-I's McLean Severson placed fifth in a time of 17:27 and qualified for state individually.
