LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Harland Braun, the lawyer who has represented Robert Blake since his wife was shot to death last year, announced his resignation Monday, saying he objected to the actor's decision to grant a jailhouse interview to ABC.
Hours later, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it would not allow the on-camera interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer to take place.
Late Monday night, the Sheriff's Department issued a statement saying it had reviewed a request for the interview and turned it down.
It wasn't immediately clear if that would affect Braun's decision to resign.
