Staples-Motley Wings it past EGF

STAPLES - Brandon Wing rushed for two scores and added another via a 60-yard touchdown pass from Alex Jansson as No. 3 seed Staples-Motley easily dispatched No. 6 East Grand Forks 44-0 in the quarterfinals of the Section 8-3A playoffs Tuesday.

Blake Petrich rushed 11 times for 73 yards and scored the Cardinals' first two touchdowns while Jansson added a 14-yard TD run as S-M out-gained the Green Wave 476-91 in total yards.

Next up for the Cardinals, who ended the regular season ranked fifth in 3A, is a matchup at No. 2 Perham at 6 p.m. Saturday in the section semifinals.
