TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A person opened fire Monday in a class at the University of Arizona's School of Nursing, university police said. Three people were confirmed dead.
Police declined to identify the victims or release any information on the dead. However, the university had said earlier that two female professors had been shot.
The college and nearby buildings were immediately evacuated as police investigated, said spokeswoman Lisa Wakefield.
Police said officers were going room to room, searching for any other possible victims. Police also closed Campbell Avenue, which runs along the edge of the campus near where the shooting happened.
