CLC's Feldewerd, Hamilton honored

Erica Feldewerd and Krystle Hamilton of Central Lakes College have been named to the All-Northern Division first team.

Teammate Rachel Pfeffer made the second team.

Warriors seeded fourth

The Brainerd Warriors are seeded fourth in the North Subsection 8-3A volleyball tournament and will host No. 5 St. Cloud Tech at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the opening round.

The Brainerd/Tech winner plays at No. 1 Moorhead at 7 p.m. Friday. The No. 3 Alexandria/No. 6 St. Cloud Apollo winner plays at No. 2 Bemidji at 7 p.m. Friday.

Section semifinal matches are at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the high seed. The section championship is at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at a neutral site.

Olejnicak gets win

Erin Olejnicak, sophomore from Brainerd, and Molly Bergmann, sophomore from Walker, shared playing time in net as the St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored a 9-0 win over Presentation College Saturday.

Olejnicak got the win and improved her record to 6-1-2.

The Saints, 14-3-2 overall, 12-0-1 in the conference, won their sixth straight regular-season UMAC championship Sunday as they defeated the University of Minnesota-Morris 4-0. They end the regular season at 1 p.m. Friday when they host Northland College.

Karate tournament

Six lakes area residents participated in an invitational karate kata tournament Saturday at the Gym Nation Karate Club at Buffalo.

Youth Green Belt: 2nd, Jacob Drietz, Brainerd

Youth Purple Belt: 1st, Hunter Westerlund, Aitkin

Youth Brown Belt: 3rd, Ronan Pritschet, Brainerd

Adult Purple and Brown Belt: 1st, Neil Westerlund, Aitkin; 3rd, Amos Pigg, Brainerd

Women's Black Belt: 3rd, Miriam Pritschet, Brainerd
