Cass County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at about 8 p.m. Monday at Pillsbury Junction in Pillager.

At 9:30 p.m., Sheriff's Chief Deputy Tom Burch said the suspect, a man, used some sort of weapon to rob the store and fled on foot, but few other details were available. No injuries were reported, but Burch said the store employee was "pretty shook up."

At 10:30 p.m., deputies were working on getting a search warrant to search a residence in Pillager and continuing to follow up on leads, Burch said.

Cass County Sheriff's deputies were assisted in the search for the suspect by a K-9 officer, the Morrison County Sheriff's Department, State Patrol troopers and a State Patrol helicopter.

In a news release Tuesday morning, Cass County Sheriff's Department said the suspect brandished a black semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall with a slim build in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and a black ski mask.

Officers from the Pillager, Motley and Randall police departments as well as the sheriff's department responded.
