The Brainerd City Council voted 5 to 2 to override Mayor Tom O'Brien's veto of the 1975 local property tax levy at a special meeting. The resolution adopted sets next year's local levy at $558,048.

Mrs. John Stensrud has been named Chairman of the Crow Wing County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Other officers are A. J. Loom, Vice Chairman; Dr. Roy Ployhar, secretary; and Dr. William Ribbel, treasurer.

In the immediate Brainerd area, a present labor shortage does not exist. Laborers are still needed at the Northwest Paper Mill and the Northern Pacific Shop, but that is practically all the hiring that is being done.
