Joy acquitted of felony theft

WALKER - A Cass County jury Oct. 7 acquitted Rebecca Ann Joy, 43, Pine River, of felony theft in connection with the disappearance of $4,806 in pull-tab receipts from the Backus American Legion.

WALKER - The following appeared recently in Cass County District Court:

James Steven Volk, 43, Pine River, received probation before conviction for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession), was ordered to pay $625 fees and placed on five years supervised probation.

Arthur Fred DeWitt, 23, Mankato, formerly of Pine River, was ordered to serve 15 days jail for violating probation he is serving for felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Andy James Johnson, also known as Andrew James Johnson, 21, Backus, was found in violation of probation he was serving for felony third-degree burglary and received execution of the balance of one year and one day prison, with credit for time already served.
