BHS choirs to present Fall Concert

Posted: Thursday, October 25, 2001

This year's Brainerd High School choirs will debut in concert Friday at Tornstrom Auditorium, Washington Middle School.

The Fall Concert will feature performances by the A Cappella Choir, Bards, Concert Chorale, Windfall, Herd of Bananas and the Smith Sisters, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for students at the gate. Cathy Taylor will provide accompaniment.

"The first concert of the year is always exciting for me and for the students because we are just beginning to experience what it means to be a group and what we can accomplish together through hard word and dedication," said choral director Michael Smith.

"This concert is also very special because so many alumni come back to hear the choirs and join in singing the final two numbers sung at every Fall Concert," he said.

"Give Me Jesus" and "Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit" will conclude the concert, with audience participation, Smith said.

A reception in honor of alumni, choir members and parents will follow the concert.
