Alexandria sweeps conference

ALEXANDRA - Sydnie Mauch recorded five kills and 3.5 blocks along with Tess Rahto's five blocks and two kills as Brainerd was shut out 3-0 by the Alexandria Cardinals in the final Central Lakes Conference match of the season.

"Alex is a town steep in tradition of volleyball," said Warrior coach Jared Diem. "Most girls there have a volleyball in their hands when they start walking."

Alexandria finished their conference run with a perfect 12-0 record.

"We had some good runs tonight," Diem added, "but also some lulls and that's when a seasoned team like Alex will take over. Even though the scores might not show it, we played them strong both times we played them."

Alanna Hansen had 12 set assists and Hallsey Olson five digs for the Warriors.
