YMCA offering high school intramural basketball

The Brainerd Family YMCA and Brainerd Community Education are co-sponsoring an intramural basketball league for boys in grades 9-12 for Brainerd and surrounding school districts.

Games will be played on Sundays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the YMCA gym. League play begins Nov. 22 and runs for eight weeks, including playoffs. All games will be officiated.

Cost is $45 per participant and includes T-shirt.

Registration forms are available on the YMCA Web site or can be picked up at the Brainerd High school Activities Office, at the South Campus main office or at the YMCA. Players may sign up as an individual or with a team.

JV swimmers compete

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity swimming and diving team lost to St. Cloud Tech Friday 93-79.

Winning for Brainerd was Madison Grausam in diving, Enid Swaggert (100 butterfly), Mindy Jocobson (100 breaststroke) and all three relays. The 200 medley relay (Katelyn Jindra, Jacobson, Jane Stromberg, Erica Strand) won in 2:25.5. The 200 free relay (Josie Smude, Amanda Panzer, Stromberg Kaylie Johnson) won in 2:10.52 and the 400 free relay (Swaggert, Panzer, Jacobson, Stromberg) won in 4:44.00.
