Is winter on its way to the Brainerd area? Not quite yet.
Though there's a 30 percent chance of snow showers Sunday, Kevin Donofrio, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Duluth said Thursday night the area will at most receive a light dusting of snow and little, if any, accumulation with the bulk of ther snow showers farther north along the international border.
Whatever snow does fall will not last as temperatures are expected to be above 50 degrees next week.
"We've certainly seen more snow by this time (of the year) but I'm not complaining and I know there are many others who won't," Donofrio said.
