I think it's great that we have postponed the eviction decision for the BMX track for one year, but isn't it really sad that we need to fight and convince the city council to keep a sports facility for the youth of Brainerd intact. I find it incredible that the council cannot see past the developmental dollar signs on a small portion of the 61 acres and think of the kids. They are our future. I think the five acres the BMX track now occupies should be sold to them for the $11,160.65 per acre the city paid for it, not the $150,000 per acre plus utilities they're asking.

Three years ago the BMX was kicked off Memorial Park field and grass was planted. I just can't understand why the city can't donate the land or sell it to the BMX'ers for $10,000 an acre. The city doesn't have a dime into the track. I think they should wake up to see that there are 200 kids out there every weekend.
