The Rotary is looking for "enthusiastic, informed and articulate local professionals" for a Rotary-sponsored vocational tour of Lithuania in April.
Through Rotary's Group Study Exchange Program, area residents (non-Rotarians) have the opportunity to foster international understanding through people-to-people diplomacy. The Group Study Exchange Program of The Rotary Foundation is a cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women ages 25 to 40 and in the early years of their professional lives.
The program provides travel grants for a five-member team to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries.
The team selected from District 5580 will spend four to six weeks in Lithuania, meeting their professional peers, staying in Rotarians' homes and experiencing the people and culture of Lithuania. For each team member, the Rotary Foundation provides the most economical round-trip air ticket between the home and host country.
The GSE Committee is now accepting applications for team members to participate in the 2004-2005 exchange program. All clubs in District 5580 are encouraged to seek those in area communities who meet the specific criteria.
Applications will be accepted through Oct. 30 and should be mailed to: Mary Rittmiller, 2004 District 5580 GSE Chair, 29246 Pine Ridge Road, Grand Rapids, MN 55744.
